In vitro Propagation of Hyacinthus orientalis L.




Abstract
The study was conducted in order to establish a system of year-round propagation cf bulb through bulblet and leaf tissue culture originated from flower stalk tissue of Hyacinthus crientalis. The results obtained were summarized as follows.
Percentage of redifferentiation of bulblet from bulblet scale tissue of $quot;City of Haarlem$quot; was the highest in 1.0§·/§¤ IBA added medium. Growth of bulblet differentiated from both tissues was very good in 1.0§·/§¤ l IBA added medium. Bulblet formation percentage from bulblet scale tissue of $quot;Blue jacket$quot; was good in 1.0§·/§¤ IBA, but that from leaf tissue, in 1.0§·/§¤ IAA and proliferation and growth of bulblet from bulblet scale tissue was good in 1.0§·/§¤ IAA, but that from leaf tissue in 1.0§·/§¤ IBA added medium.
Bulblet formation percentage from bulblet scale tissue of $quot;Carnegie$quot; and $quot;Anna marie$quot; was good in 1.0§·/§¤ IBA added media. Proliferation and growth of bulblet from bulblet scale tissue of $quot;Carnegie$quot; was good in 1.0§·/§¤ IAA, but that from leaf tissue, in 1.0§·/§¤ IBA added medium. In $quot;Anna marie$quot; growth of bulblet differentiated from both tissue was very good in 1.0§·/§¤ IBA added medium.
Percentage of bulblet formation of $quot;Anna marie$quot; under light culture for one month after continuous dark was higher than under continuous dark culture, that of bulblet scale tissue was higher in the medium added with 1.0§·/§¤ IAA, that of leaf tissue, in the medium supplemented with 1.0§·/§¤IBA.
